After two full days at sea sailing from Athens...
... we finally left the Adriatic Sea and entered the Venice Lagoon
An armada of small boats showing us the way
Passengers lined the rails to take in the spectacular views
There are few cities in the world that command awe when you approach them from the sea...
... Venice is tops!
The entrance to the "Grand Canal"
St Mark's Square with the Campanile (clock tower), domes of the Basilica and the Doge's Palace
Heading to the cruise port on the Guidecca Canal... our Hotel (Hilton Molino Stuckey) is in the distance
... with leaning towers
Pisa is not the only city in Italy...
The Seabourne Spirit ... a very sleek "luxury" small cruise ship
The "Star Clipper" five masted schooner... beautiful!
The port is busy ... with five cruise liners here
Captain Dino Sagani must maneuver us into that tight berth...
... and he masterfully turns us "on the proverbial dime" to back us in!
Ken Fanelli ... not missing a shot
I got Ken to relax for a moment
We'll get off in a moment to tour Venice and plan to return to the ship later this evening
The Princess arranged shuttle will take us near St Mark's
A closer look at this beauty
